Recording Secretary Candidates

  • Michael Holmes
    • Michael Holmes is an engaged member of the Delta Theta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. He has actively contributed to the chapter’s mission through volunteering at induction ceremonies and supporting new members in their transition into the global community of nurse leaders. In recognition of his dedication to advancing nursing science, Michael received research funding from Sigma, which has been instrumental in furthering his scholarly work in nursing education and curriculum development, with a focus on safe medication administration and self-efficacy in clinical education.

      Michael currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he is the lead faculty for the Clinical Nursing Foundations course. In this role, he oversees more than 200 students per semester and coordinates a large team of clinical faculty across numerous clinical sites in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a candidate for Recording Secretary, Michael brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting the chapter’s work in leadership, scholarship, and service. He looks forward to contributing to the chapter’s continued success and fostering meaningful engagement among its members.

  • Dr. Regina Urban
    • Dr. Regina Urban is a Registered Nurse with 27 years’ experience working in critical care, nursing professional development, and nursing education settings. She also possesses previous degrees in psychology and experience working as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. She is nationally certified in nursing professional development (NPD-BC), nursing education (CNE), and by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). Currently, Dr Urban is a 5th year tenure-track Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). She has been a member of the faculty since 2012, teaching undergraduate nursing research to RN-BSN students and qualitative research methods in the PhD nursing program. Dr. Urban has received the UTA Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (2017), the UT System Regents Outstanding Teaching Award (2018), and CONHI Undergraduate Awards in Teaching (2017; 2023), Scholarship (2020; 2023), and Scholarship Mentoring (2023).

      Dr. Urban’s research centers on learner and clinician well-being. For nursing students, she examines psychosocial health and well-being, incivility, academic persistence, and student success. Her research with acute care registered nurses focuses on psychosocial health, work engagement, burnout, and professional well-being. The goal of her research is to identify strategies that enhance well-being across the nursing career trajectory, from students to experienced registered nurse.

  • Dr. Christina Cotton
    • Christina M. Cotton, DNP, CPNP-AC/PC, is a dual-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience in pediatric hematology/oncology, survivorship care, and acute care pediatrics. She currently practices at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, where she manages inpatient oncology patients and contributes to multidisciplinary care teams. Dr. Cotton earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington and has held leadership roles in survivorship program development and pediatric neuro-oncology. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Children’s Oncology Group and the National Pediatric Nurse Scientist Collaborative, and contributes to national certification efforts through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Her work integrates clinical practice, research, and education, with a strong focus on improving long-term outcomes for pediatric cancer survivors.

  • Dr. Donna Bacchus
    • Dr. Donna Bacchus is a seasoned nursing educator and healthcare leader with over four decades of experience in clinical practice, academic instruction, and healthcare quality improvement. Currently serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington since 2015, she has played a pivotal role in preparing future nurses through both in-person and virtual education.

      Dr. Bacchus holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, an MSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Ottawa. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Bacchus has demonstrated a passion for lifelong learning, curriculum development, and student mentorship. Her professional mission is centered on producing ready, compassionate nurses equipped to meet the evolving challenges of today’s healthcare landscape.

  • Dr. Eddie Gradney
    • Dr. Eddie M. Gradney began her Nursing career as a Cardiology and Cardiovascular RN at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Texas Heart Institute. After many years of acute care, Dr. Gradney was promoted to nursing Supervisor in charge of the Critical Care/ ICU units at St. Luke’s. Eddie would go on to earn her Master’s degree and FNP certification from Texas Woman’s University in 2004, her ANCC Certification for Family Nurse Practice in 2005, and her DNP from UT Arlington in 2021. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International, Delta Theta Chapter 102. She has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings, including Retail Health, Occupational Medicine, Acute care, Primary care, Virtual health care, and currently Rural health care as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

      Dr. Gradney is an Educator and served as Adjunct faculty for 12 years in both Didactic and Clinical faculty roles. She is a current member of AANP and serves as Legislative Ambassador for the Texas Nurse Practitioner Organization. Dr. Gradney has served on the board of the American Red Cross for the Texas Gulf Coast Region since 2020, and is an active volunteer in the Red Cross Disaster Health, Disaster Sheltering, and Academic Service Learning. She was recently selected as Nursing Network Regional Nurse Leader for the Texas Gulf Coast Area. In addition, she is a member of the Texas Medical Reserve Corps. Last but not least, Dr. Gradney is the proud mom of four amazing young adults and has been married to her husband, RJ, for over 35 years.

  • Dr. Felicia Ogidan
    • I graduated from the University of Texas, Arlington, in the Fall of 2006 with a BSN. I obtained my MSN from Walden University in 2014 and my PhD in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in May 2025. I started working at UTA Smart Hospital/Lab in the Fall of 2016. I am a PRN in one of the adult intensive care units (ICUs) at Texas Health Resources Hospital. My experience includes, but is not limited to, community health nursing, elementary school nursing, nursing education, and ICU nursing. I am a member of the Parish Health Ministry of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth. I am also a member of the Fort Worth ISD school health advisory committee. I teach BLS within my community in Fort Worth.

  • Paula Wyman
    • Paula Wyman, MSN, RN, CNL, CMSRN, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She is the lead faculty for Clinical Nursing Foundations in the Accelerated Online Program and teaches Pathologic Processes. She is an affiliate faculty of the Multi Interprofessional Center of Health Informatics at UTA. She received her MSN from Texas Christian University and is currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington in the PhD of Nursing program. She practiced in multiple areas of nursing including cardiac, neuro, oncology, and orthopedics to name a few for 25 years before moving to academia. Her areas of research interest include informatics, simulation, measuring competencies, telehealth, and decreasing technostress in students and new graduate nurses.
